Is a nice gadget... You'll probably find it useful for more than sgdz... In reply to bangbang

Wingnut (and other new N7 owners), are you able to record gameplay on there? I tried using several screen recording apps on my Samsung Galaxy S4, but all I get is black video with no sound each time.

The nvidia chips are apparently close to impossible to record directly on the device. Any other device needs to be root, as far as I know. I looked far and wide and found no good method of recording the N7...

DUH Just saw that you mean new N7.... I'm guessing you'll need root to use one of those apps.... You rooted?

I haven't pulled the trigger on the new N7 yet. Just wondering if anyone has gotten screen recording on to the device working.

If not, would an iPad (full size or mini) work for that?

I tried doing a video recording back when i was using my N10, and i couldn't find a decent recording app. Every app i tried had the same results as you did with your samsung.

@wing, when you get your N10, let me know how you find playing on Port and Warzone. With Wunda and I, we get massive frame drops consistently on those maps making them nearly unplayable. The N10 is rocking a Mali processor but it's not strong enough to push out a high framerate on the crazy high resolution

@bang: Yeah, if your looking for a device solely for this game, i'd say hold of till MF gets their shit together. There may be something better that comes out on the market. Till then, Just game on your PC. My laptop is close to it's last days and the quality of the game is better than on the ipad4 i play on. Along with that, PC makes you that much more proficient of a killer too. ....and you can screencast it In reply to wingnut

Knees, it can't be worse than my n7... That mali gpu is way better from what i gather...i know the screen resolution is something, to...I'll play on low graphics anyway. Eager to see how it goes..

I'm probably gonna take a few days of from playing till I get that baby.

That's why I went for the Haugpauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition to record my TF201 (tegra 3) also will use it with my Shield.

Downside of it is that you need a PC for the actual recording, the plus of it is that you can start recording at the press of a button on the device and the HDMI pass through allows you to play on the TV with sound while recording without delays.

The video capture on the PC is delayed by 3 seconds or so.

Snuck in a round with the Nexus 10. Invasion. WOW!

Will get a few more rounds in before dinner later today... Eager to see if it hills up in war zone and port.

Welcome to my world! Emoticon Let me know how Warzone or Port are for you. For Phil and I on the N10, I notice some frame rate drops In reply to wingnut

Got one long match in warzone.... Nothing off. seemed mostly perfect. Small sample size though... Never got port. Framed the n10 completely. Will have to wait for more testing

That should be at least double the frame rate than your 1st gen Nexus 7. but with the added screen size but higher pixes so might be somewhere in between.

Two things I miss on the shield are:
1) the keyboard dock so I can type in the in-game play with friends chat. (lol, the p in play almost didn't go through when typing, good thing I caught it)
2) the screen size, going from 10" to 5" is tough, think I need some 2x or 2.5x reading glasses just to play the game and get dizzy while moving around the house). Or when I hook it up to my 40" TV.

3) I guess it was more than 2. Since I got the Shield, I've been distracted with the Nvidia development kit for Tegra, so I've been coding more than playing on my time off. Nothing mayor just getting my feet wet on Android development. Not the first time since I have my transformer prime set of development too but now Nvidia has integration with Visual Studio 2010 instead of using that ackward Eclipse.

I do have my own engine (old) that could do DirectX 9, but i'm thinking into porting it to Android and OpenGL ES 2.0 but that will take a very long while to get anything (maybe, since most components might drop in nicely since I used Visual Studio 6.0 for that PC game engine).

But tools are obsolete and I didn't have shader support, so to bring that engine up to something useful might take time from my gameplay.

@Miguel sounds like cool work. Aiming is much better on a large screen though, for sure. For me, it's way easier to calculate and adjust for lead with more screen to see.

@knees and wunda: finally got a game in port with the N10. It was mostly smooth, but one guy was warping on me. It was the same dude so it's hard to say it was the map and not the dude's connection. I also didn't notice until the game was close to over. I had no trouble in the match... Notched 30+ kills.
But I think the jury is still out. Need more data.

Started to get consistent lag. Death Match maps, particularly sea shell are the wurst. War zone was really bad, too. Is funny, cuz it was working fine before. Not sure if it's general server stuff or the Nexus 10...

@knees
Is been better lately. I'm restarting the tab before I play. I get lag no matter what if there's a lot of level 50 action. Had the same issue on the nexus 7... I guess they never optimized it for the 10, which is odd. In reply to wingnut
